Meet The Hair Inspired Company (THIC), a new haircare line on the Canadian beauty scene

Made-in-Canada haircare brand THIC (which stands for The Hair Inspired Company), is a brand new vegan player in the beauty game founded by veteran hairstylist Morgan Tully and, earlier this week, THIC launched its first product, the Daily Hair Perfecting Oil ($39). Made from natural cold-pressed oils such as hemp, argan, and grape seed that work in tandem to smooth and repair your mane, this hair elixir is ideal for everyday use and can be used on all hair textures to boot.

Sephora Canada continues to roll out the holiday extension of its “We Belong To Something Beautiful” campaign

Last year, Sephora Canada launched its multi-chapter “We Belong to Something Beautiful” campaign, an ongoing initiative from the beauty giant rooted in inspiring local stories from across Canada and that champions diversity at its core. For the holiday season, the beauty retailer has extended its inclusive push with a new video campaign series called “It’s the beauty you give”, which sees local collaborators expressing their gratitude towards somebody doing monumental things in their community via touching words and a Sephora gift. Last week we saw influencer and entrepreneur Shannae Ingleton Smith express appreciation to her dear friend Sasha Exeter, a local content creator who has had much clout in the Black Lives Matter movement right here at home. This week, Indigenous artist and activist Sarain Fox graced the camera to spotlight Suzanne Shoush, an Indigenous doctor and community leader who’s been working tirelessly to make sure Indigenous communities have access to adequate Covid testing and resources during the health pandemic.

Starface launched limited-edition Hello Kitty Hydro-Stars

Trying to figure out how to get rid of pimples and acne breakouts? YSL Beauty embarked on a global mission to combat domestic violence

YSL Beauty has joined the fight against domestic violence through the global launch of its “Abuse Is Not Love” program, an initiative that sees the beauty company teaming up with non-profits around the globe. YSL Beauty detailed that the multi-pronged effort is built around three pillars: funding academic research on the topic to develop thought-leadership around youth and prevention, educating at least two million people on the common signs of intimate partner violence, as well as training YSL Beauty employees and beauty advisors on the topic. The program launched with three non-profit partners – It’s On Us in the US, Women’s Aid in the UK and En Avant Toute(s) in France – with more set to join in 2021. The company also noted that the effort was especially key to roll out this year due to rising rates of domestic violence amid the pandemic.
